The Importance of Having, Inspiring, and Sharing Curiosity
Hank Green wonderfully put into words my feelings and opinions toward the importance of being curious, inspiring curiosity, and sharing curiosity. The desire to know understand, and seeing the world as a puzzle that’s begging to be solved is just really lovely. It’s one of my favourite hobbies, and I like to take that information and scrunch it up into interesting shapes and then share it back out with the world. If I can share that feeling and put it out there in the world and have more people who are curious, more people who see the world as that kind of puzzle, more people who want to know for knowing’s sake - I think that’s a really good path for the world to be walking down to be a better place in the future.
Being curious is one of the greatest and most exciting qualities a person can have. There is a lot of information out in the world, and there is a lot more that we have yet to discover (e.g. the mysterious and mystical quantum world). You will never stop learning in your lifetime, and you will never ever run out of opportunities to ask questions like why something works or how something works, and that to me makes life incredibly exciting (that and fantasy novels - reading is important too!).
